GOLDEN is a goldenberry farming and processing company. It provides technical assistance to associated small-scale farmers of the Ecuadorian Andres in the farming of goldenberries. Its commitment with sustainability consists in implementing practices to mitigate climate change. GOLDEN produces and exports fresh and value-added goldenberry products with high nutritional values and sustainability.
"GOLDEN Sweet Spirit has a 2030 energy plan that consists in switching from fossil to renewable energy. GOLDEN has also established an ambitious plan of reforestation with native species next to the goldenberry field-crops, a native fruit of the Andes. GOLDEN has a neutral carbon footprint and with other initiatives we work for the well-being of farmers and workers and the preservation of our ecosystems.
One of HARVEC's direct contributions to support the market expansion of GOLDEN Sweet Spirit has been to upgrade packaging and labeling standards according to FDA requirements. Forming a feedback loop from the consumer back to the farmer will be another HARVEC activity that will yield better business models from the field to the retail shelves. Even when goldenberries are still exotic for the vast majority of consumers, our combined goal is to break beyond ethnic markets and preferences to make this superfruit more popular and accessible to customers. LaChó Cacao is an Ecuadorian small business with the goal of reviving the customary consumption of chocolate as a nutritious food because we know that cacao is more than just an ingredient for sweets. LaChó has developed products to prepare hot and cold beverages, desserts, cooking, baking, and to make cocktails. Our products are innovative and easy to use, and we call them Chocolate Barista Collection.
LaChó products are made of fine aromatic cacao, a superfood with high content of magnesium and antioxidants that helps with muscles relaxation and new cells formation. LaChó brings cacao products that are adapted for a healthy and contemporary lifestyle.
LaChó was founded on the inspiration of the 5,330 years millenary Ecuadorian tradition of drinking chocolate. Aborigine cultures in the actual Zamora Chinchipe province, in the south of Ecuador, discovered that cacao could be consumed and that it was an excellent source of energy.
Our aromatic cacao is grown in Los Rios province, and we use processes to keep its nutritional properties and exceptional flavor.
